Free newsgroup servers, contrary to popular belief, do actually exist. However, they are pretty difficult to find. This is not the only problem nonetheless, and to find a server which is both free and has everything that you want on it in terms of content, is next to impossible.

The fact is, if you are interested in finding newsgroup service, you are going to have to be prepared to pay a modest monthly subscription. This should not turn out to be a lot of money, but it will also offer you a service which is reliable, interesting and fun to use. However, if you are still intent on looking into the free newsgroups nervous, then there are some options which you might want to consider.

Firstly, newsgroup servers that are free often ones which have been accessed by using an exploit due to an error on the part of the administrators. Newsgroups which appear on the Internet which are free to access, at least for a certain period of time, can often be found on various directory websites. However, these problems are quickly fixed up for obvious reasons.

Also, the problem will be fixed pretty quickly no doubt. The administrators of such a server a lot of money for hosting and they require an enormous amount of bandwidth and of course disk space to store all the newsgroups. Because of this, it is very unlikely that they’re going to be able to afford to offer a free service. And even if they do offer a free service, it is not likely to be a high quality one.

You certainly won’t find the latest information about various subjects and hobbies on a server like this. You will likely only find information about controversial subjects and anything else that you expect to find a newsgroup all about free speech and promoting it.

Corporate servers are another option. However, they typically are only relevant to the people who work in the companies concerned or their investors. Again, it is unlikely that you will find any other information on various subjects. However, it is worth a try just a have a look. Nonetheless, you will find that they are probably not have interests of the average user.

Basically, you are going to need to pay to get a reliable, constant and interesting service. People hardly get your money’s worth.
