The ability to watch movies online has come a long way. It wasn’t until a few years ago that this became a viable option for movie fans because of bandwidth. But today, the majority of users have highspeed connections that allow them to watch their favorite titles online. There are several options for watching movies online.

Although you do have to wait for the DVDs to arrive, this typically only takes a day or two, and shipping is free.

In terms of selection, what Netflix and Blockbuster offers beats them all by far. Just about any movie you want will be available. Eventually, I see these services offering download movies as part of their service, and then you will truly have the best of both worlds.

Netflix already does offer a limited number of titles which can be viewed online or through a Netflix ready device on your TV. These titles, however, are not the popular ones but there are some good films included in the list. With Blockbuster, you can trade in your DVDs for new selections at a physical store, which is a great feature for people who don’t like to wait.

When everything is taken into consideration, I still feel that the best way to view movies is to join Netflix or Blockbuster because of the wider selection and lower cost.
