This a great self working card trick that only requires a small bit of misdirection. It’s great to do with kids, or adults. I’ve never been caught while doing this trick. It’s easy to learn, and easy to teach, if you so choose. And the great part is that you really embellish this trick with all kinds of wonderful patter if you like that sort of thing.

Here’s the basic trick, as it appears to your spectators. You hold a normal deck of cards, and fan it out, like they would expect. Then you command them to pick a card, any card. They pick card, and you tell them to examine it cautiously, and display it to their friends. After they put it back in the deck, you bafflingly pluck it right out. They will be shocked, and think you have powerful spiritual powers.

Here’s how to do the ploy. While they are busily learning their card, you separate the deck, and fashion a place for them to set their card. All you need to do is take a speedy peak at the card that you will put on top of theirs. Just bear in mind this card, and once they place there’s in the deck, you’ll know precisely what card comes after. There are numerous ways to divulge this trick.

The most noticeable way is to simply make believe you are reading their mind while looking through the cards. Then when you get to there’s (which is next to the one you peaked at), you merely pull it out. This alone will worth the price of admission. But hang around, there’s more.

You can search through the deck, pretending to look for it. Once you get to there card, separate and re stack the pack so their card is on top. Then place the deck face down on a desk, say some captivating expressions, tap the top, and there card will be on top. But hang on, that’s not all, there’s one more powerful reveal.

Once you have their card on top, place the deck behind your back, or under the table. Then rapidly take their card out, flip it over, and place it back in the deck, so it’s facing the opposite direction of all the other cards. Then act as if that you can’t guess their card, and get them to tell you which one it was. Then merely look through the deck, now with the cards face up, and there’s will be the only card that is face down. This is only a few ways to reveal their card, I’m sure you can suppose of many others. The more you can talk up your psychic powers of assumption before this trick, the better. Here’s another great magic trick that never fails to baffle any audience. Because it’s done with money, it will be sure to quickly and powerfully grab anyone’s attention. This up close magic trick requires some preparation and some practice, but you’ll surely find that it’s worth it, as most people will not believe their eyes when they see this incredible trick.

Here’s how the trick will be seen to your eager spectators. You pull out a bill, any bill will do, but I suggest using just a dollar, as you will be cutting it in half. You clarify to the throng that you have lately discovered some influential cash magic from the gods of money, and you are going to give a demo. You pull out a dollar bill, and a pair of cutters.

As the mass looks on breathlessly, you cut the dollar bill in half. You clutch each half up individually for all to see, and with some magic words, and perhaps a flourish of your magic wand, with each hand you magically make each cut half grow into a new, complete dollar bill. You have just performed the impossible. You have cut a dollar bill in half, and each half has developed a new half, so now you have two dollars!

Here’s the ploy. Before, you’ll need to carefully organize both bills. You take each bill, and delicately coat the center of each with a thin strip of rubber cement. Make sure to coat both sides. After you have finished covering each side with rubber cement, gently dust the rubber cement with baby powder, or talcum powder.

When you pull out the “single” bill, it is actually two bills placed carefully together. When you cut through each bill, you will have two halves that are coupled by the rubber cement. So when you open out each half, they will appear to be a single bill, when in fact it is two separate bills that are now glued together by the rubber cement.

This takes a bit of rehearsal, so make sure you practice with some regular paper. Of course, if you don’t like the idea of cutting genuine money in half, you can always use stage money, or monopoly money. Also it’s a good idea to talk a good game before and after the trick. Another good idea is to quickly put both bills back in your pocket, where you have two more matching bills waiting, should anybody ask to inspect them. This works great at parties or bars, where people are tranquil and having a good time. Have fun with this.
