Free New Milk Movies

One movie that has been awarded with esteemed awards and is worth a watch is ‘Milk’. Unlike the meaning suggested by the title of the movie, this flick is about a man named Harvey Milk. He was the first gay guy in United States to be voted as a public officer in San Francisco, California. Harvey Milk proved its distinctness by being among the first three gay persons in all of the United States to go for such a thing.

This second movie on Harvey Milk and follows the storyline of its previous version. The previous version of the movie was released way back in November 1984 with the title ‘The Times of Harvey Milk’. This movie made its way to Oscars and won an Oscar for the Best Documentary Film. People do tend to compare the revised version with the original one, however, they couldn’t make out much of a difference quality wise. The 2008 version and got nominated for 8 categories at the Academy Awards and won Oscars with the titles of Best Actor in a Leading Role and Best Original Screenplay. Best Actor in a Leading Role was awarded to Sean Penn for his excellent performance in the role of Harvey Milk. Best Original Screenplay was awarded to Dustin Lance Black.

The filming for Milk was also as authentic as it gets with the crew moving down to San Francisco’s Castro Street and even the camera shop that Milk once owned – Castro Camera. The movie captures Milk’s life from the age of 40 right up to his assassination. It starts with him in New York from where he moves to San Francisco with his lover Scott Smith refusing to stay hiding in his closet for the rest of his life.

He makes a fresh start by opening a camera shop on Castro Street that soon becomes the meeting place for the gay members of the San Franciscan community. Milk begins to focus on the issue of gay rights and the lack of it which is followed by a move to make a foray into the world of politics to be better able to champion the gay cause. Milk is met with many failures before he is successfully voted as a supervisor. Then begins his struggle to espouse the gay cause and get people to see the injustice being meted out to gays for being who they were. This process leads him to take on both Anita Bryant as well as a colleague by the name of Dan White who also happens to be elected at the same time as Milk.

White (played by Josh Brolin) represents the conservatives and is constantly “out-voted” by Milk and other supervisors who are pro growth. Dan White’s increasing frustrations on both personal and professional fronts lead to the chilling end of the movie. Yes, the story of Harvey Milk is interesting and moving, allowing audiences of all sorts to enjoy it with equal interest. The Amazing Technology Of Consumer Satellite TV

How does satellite TV work? There is a long version that is very scientific and a shorter version that is more interesting. We’ll stick with the shorter version. The very first satellite for TV was shot into orbit in’62. So, there has been a lot of advances made to the technology behind satellites since then. And, we have benefited from all of those advances.

The old nine foot satellite dishes came with remote controls that were quickly lost. These satellites are still around because they have a forever life expectancy and work great. People who use them now just have the neighbors come over and help move the dish when they want to change satellites. They sit as a monument in most back yards. Big, grey, daunting. But, they have, and continue to, provide a superb picture on any television.

The really great thing about these dishes, besides the fact that it was a great excuse not to mow half the back yard, was that you could get programs from other countries. For instance, someone in California could get programming from Canada. Or, when the satellites shifted you could get programs from other countries depending on which satellite you landed on.

So, as the popularity of satellite televisions grew they started shooting more satellites up that had transponders on them. They called these geostationary satellites because they are orbiting at the same speed as the earth so they aren’t really moving anymore than we are. This made reception easier to achieve and if you knew where a satellite was you could point the nine foot dish at the satellite and watch a different countries stuff. It was still pretty cool.

Well, nine foot dishes just have never really caught on as a yard ornament in cities and they wanted satellite television also. So, satellite providers came up with little’” dishes that could be put just about anywhere on a house with a clear southern exposure and started beaming programs from all of the satellites to the dishes. No more calling the neighbors to move the dish, just a little dish stuck on the side of a building that was easy to move and 500 or so channels to choose from.

In cities however, obstruction was a problem and that is how “spot beams” were born. The satellites beam a signal to the spot beam, that beams a signal to the dish, that beams a signal to the receiver. This solved the problem of getting a signal just about anywhere in a metropolitan area easily.

The system runs on radio signals that are sent digitally encoded. The guys figured out that they could send more channels through the same bandwidth using this strategies. This is why over five hundred channels are available at any time, twenty-four hours a day. Improvements and advancements continue to be made that are making the dishes smaller and more powerful. It’s actually amazing how the whole system works.

The story takes its root from the predictions in the Mesoamerican Long Count Calendar and the Mayan calendar which states that the world will be destroyed completely by the year 2012 due to certain climatic changes. Free Back To The Future Online

The’80’s saw a lot of sci-fi Hollywood movies released each year, but none of these movies came close to being as great and magnificent as The Back to the Future movie. The movie was directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by him and Bob Gale. The king of sci-fi Hollywood movies, Steven Spielberg produced the movie.

The movie brought a whole new perspective to time travelling and changed the way people looked at or thought about time travel as earlier everyone only related time travel to the future. But in the movie Marty McFly who is the protagonist meets Dr. Emmet Brown who builds a time machine that takes them into the past and then back to the future.

People who lived in the 80’s, kids and adults both, were totally entranced by this new concept and even today many think it is one of the most brilliant sci-fi movie ever. The movie starts with Michael J. Fox who plays Marty and his weird and eccentric friend Dr. Emmet Brown played by Christopher Lloyd trying to work on a futuristic looking car that can time travel.

That is why the movie is called Back to the Future as Marty has to try and come back from the past to the future. But he has to do this without disturbing anything in the past, as the time he lands in the past is’55 when both his parents are in high school and haven’t yet fallen in love with each other. If Marty does anything wrong he might change the course of his own future in a very drastic way.

Most kids or adults who watch the movie even today feel that this movie was ahead of its time and is still thought by many as a true science fiction gem. The movie is not only packed with a great storyline and excellent graphics but also the acting is top class by all the stars. Even the dialogues and humor in the movie are unforgettable.

One of the most outstanding scenes throughout the movie is when Marty plays Johnny Be Good at the prom of’55 where his mom and dad are both present. The student crowd at the prom is flabbergasted and stunned with the music as no one in the year’55 had ever heard anything like this before. Michael J. Fox’s performance in this scene is truly outstanding and unforgettable.
